Aaron was born in Great Falls, Montana moving to Indianapolis with his parents James Allan and Laurie Lowery when he was one.
While serving as a Lieutenant with the Southport Police Department, Lt. Allan was killed in the line of duty on Thursday, July 27, 2017 in Indianapolis.
Aaron graduated from Decatur Central High School in 1997. In 1999, following the family footsteps, Aaron enlisted in the United States Airforce, where he became seriously ill and was medically discharged. It was at that time his passion to become a Police Officer from the age of 5 began to form. Aaron served the Community beginning in 2001 when he was accepted as a civilian police volunteer (CVP) with Indianapolis Police Department, 2004 with the Marion County Sherriff’s Department, 2009 Resource Officer with the Indiana School for the Deaf, 2011 Resource Officer with Franklin Township Schools, Reserve Officer with the Southport Police Department for 6 years, becoming the first full time paid officer with Southport in January 2017. For more than 10 years, he worked as a law enforcement officer at the Indiana State Fair and was scheduled to work at the fair again this year.
He graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in the 191st Class of 2011 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from University of Phoenix, Class of 2015.
He was the recipient of the 2015 Southport Officer of the Year Award and received the Life Saving Award in February 2017, along with several other recognition certificates.
Aaron is survived by his beloved wife of six years, Stacy Allan-Moore, his two sons; TJ and Aaron, Jr., his father, James Allan (Sharri), his mother, Laurie Lowery, his sister, Ryan Allan, his brother, Cory Allan, his grandmother, Shirley Childs (Larry), his in-laws, Ruth and Dennis Moore, Eric Moore (Shannon) and Jennifer Clay (Mark) and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, William J. and Sybil A. Allan, grandfather, Jimmie Whitescarver and cousin, William J. Allan III.
Aaron loved spending time with his family and friends. As an outdoor enthusiast with a tremendous passion for hunting and fishing, it was tough to keep him inside. Camping every available weekend, surrounding himself with lifelong friends with memories that will last a lifetime. Aaron and his infectious laugh will be greatly missed by many.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017 from 2-7 p.m., at Crown Hill Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Banker's Life Fieldhouse (125 S. Pennsylvania St, Indiananapolis, IN 46204), with services beginning at 11:00 a.m.
